Jodi Sta. Maria is very successful in the fields of entertainment and business. She is considered as one of the great and versatile actress in her generation. She is known as Maya in Be Careful with My Heart and was loved as Amor in Pangako Sayo. Yes, she is very busy with her career but she never forgets her passion and priority in different fields. She is a hands on Mom to her 9 year old son Thirdy and in spite of hectic schedule, she always maintain a healthy lifestyle. She works out and eat healthy stuff and with she comes up to an  idea to put up a restaurant.
 
The actress her restaurant as her new baby and she named  it as“Rue Bourbon”. It has already a three branches – The Fort, Salcedo Village in Makati and City walk 2 in Eastwood, Libis.

The restaurant got its name from Bourbon Street at the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana. The 13-block street is famous for its bars and clubs and a popular setting for the Mardi Gras. The restaurant serves healthy and delicious stuff, where the customers keep on craving for. Chef Alex Castro is the reason behinds those delicious food. Jodi’s restaurant offers a healthy, delicious and affordable stuff with their specialty like, Clam and Shrimp Chowder, Roasted Vegetable, Baked Fish, and Roasted Hash.

Marvin Agustin's Restaurant Empire

Being a celebrity is not a lifetime job, yes they are earning thousands of money but they exerted too much effort and sleepless nights. Many celebrities were saying that they are happy to be in that industry because they are gaining acknowledgement and fame but at the same time its very hard and need as long patience. Being in that industry you have to be wise on how to handle your earnings and many of the celebrities are owning different restaurants as part of their saving and accomplishments.

Not everyone knows that Marvin Agustin is building his own restaurant empire. Yes he is known as a TV Host, a multi-awarded actor and and a brilliant entrepreneur.He was one of the admiring leading man in late 1980'sand teamed-up with Jolina Magdanagal.

Marvin's success has its own story. Marvin said that he makes his family as his inspiration. At his early age, he already has the potential in this business. In spite of the busyness in the the showbiz industry he never forgets his passion in cooking that's why he decided to study at the International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management, graduated in 2004. He also took up the Managing Arts Program at the Asian Institute of Management to help augment his knowledge in business and entrepreneurship.


Marvin's first restaurant  was SumoSam. He opened this restaurant with his friends Raymund Magdaluyo and Ricky Laudico and they  decided that that will be their  concept because they love Japanese food.  We know that putting up our own business is not easy,  but for Marvin he is willing to learn and do what he needs to do. Yes, his first restaurant was a huge success. His first restaurant was located at Sixth floor 2005 at the Shangri-la Plaza mall. On their first day, it was already a big hit were in, he needs to be a waiter and a sushi man at the same time because of its many customers, but in spite of it, they considered it as an answered prayer because all the efforts that they exerted was very fulfilling. Now SumoSam have more than 20 branches, and continue to satisfied different customers.


Marvin  is a real entrepreneur because he keeps on pursuing his goal and passion. He added branches of SumoSam and also added restaurants like Mr. Kurosawa, John and Yoko, Johnny Chow, Robotosan and Marciano’s. Employee development is something very important to Marvin, given that he was once a restaurant service crew member himself. He says, “It is my personal responsibility to develop the skills of my employees and help them reach their goals.” Marvin did not allow the poverty and challenges of his childhood to determine the course of his life, instead, he used his determination and passion to overcome them.  He credits his success to the chances he took and always reminds his employees.


Yes, his a great actor,a brilliant entrepreneur but  his best part is, he never fails to give back for  all the blessings which he continue to receive and which he deserves.
